Cesc's acquisition and its tactical consequences
This is a very interesting article suggesting that we won't need to replace Puyol with a centre-back but rather a defensive midfielder (Busquets) to permanently partner Pique. We will begin to see the defense play more and more like a midfield, thus possibly seeing unprecedented levels of possession (~80%?). It focuses on versatility rather than being the very best at a specific job in a specific position. Yes, it's from goal.com and very much speculation, but it's thought-provoking nonetheless. It begs the question however, wouldn't this encourage opposition to park the bus?
