RB could again be the position to exploit

I think there are many better options there than Altintop.

considering Carvalho surely isn't fully fit

It seems as though Mourinho is being bold. Literally no creativity though, seems to me like the two full-backs will push forward (but if that’s the case why not Marcelo?) leaving the Trivote to drop deep. Barca going 4-3-3, what’s the bet on upwards of 75% possession?

Carvalho can't be fully fit

he’s only been to a handful of trainings this year. 75% sounds a bit high to me; I think the trivote will cause quite a few problems, especially in the opening 15-20 minutes. We’ll need time to adjust to that.

But...

There is less chance of that high-line, leaving us with time to distribute the ball, and monopolise possession to that extent, whether it is good or bad. Being honest, Mourinho has disappointed me already, virtually no intention to play Barcelona, just attempting to nullify them in the hope of a sneaky goal.

Don't blame it all on Pinto

Yes, he should’ve saved it and he would’ve saved it on another day, but the defense didn’t really help him out. And even if we get the young Argentinian, or the Italian we’re supposedly interested in, they’re at least one (and a half) year away from first team duty. Whichever we get, and I’m not saying we’ll actually get one, will join the B team for at least a season.

Coentrao and Altintop didn’t get far across the halfline before we scored.

Mou was happy with 1-0

now they almost have to score so he’s giving the full-backs more offensive duties. The two subs also show Mou’s going to risk more.

You have to be the last man or the challenge from behind has to be of “brutal” nature for it to be red. This booking was by the rules.

Pepe

Isn’t that interesting while he can brutally challenge most of the time, and yet he’s acting like a whimp even without a contact
This guy should be banned from playing football

A quote from Goal.com, check the last sentence

Booked for a very bad challenge on Busquets and could have been sent off as he lost it once more. Played on the edge and got away with stamping on Messi’s hand in front of the referee. Made some good defensive interceptions, but his marking was arguably at fault in both Barca goals. He can’t carry on like this.

i love this game for more reasons than just the win

now…madrid cant say a word…they dive…cheat..kick…play negative and then….lose:)…the better team won and barca looked as good as ive seen em this season…super confident on the ball…and abidal finished with composure that a forward usually shows….:)
