And there you have it - the official time Carles Puyol will be out of commission. This is actually the second consecutive game a FC Barcelona player has been ruled out for two months - first Thiago tore his MCL and now Puyol dislocated his elbow.
Puyol will undergo a conservative treatment plan and won't need surgery to repair the damage to elbow. All things considered Puyol can nonetheless consider himself a lucky man because there have been no reports of serious ligament damage - and clean elbow dislocations are very rare.
Puyol, being a "freak of nature" he is, could once again return from the injury sooner than anticipated, like he did from the other two injuries he picked up this season. But as much as I would like Puyol back on the pitch as soon as possible, it might be best for the captain to actually take the entire two months to fully recover from all the injuries he had this season.
