Just as it appeared FC Barcelona was finally getting healthy, the injury bug struck again. Marc Bartra was the victim this time.
You know the feeling of your favorite team having very few injury problems to deal with? No? Me neither. Just a day after FC Barcelona received a huge boost by the returning Carles Puyol, it has been announced that Marc Bartra will miss roughly 2-3 weeks due to an injured thigh muscle. The young defender picked up the injury in a training session this morning.
With numerous defenders injured in previous weeks, Bartra, in his first season as a full time first team member, had to step up. In seven appearances - already a career high for a single season - Bartra performed very well and appeared to be well on his way to beat out Alex Song on the depth chart at center-back. Now, however, Bartra will be forced to miss several games, including the return leg in the Copa del Rey - one he surely would've started.
