The Group of Death has been sorted out. Germany's 2-1 victory over Denmark assured that the Elf finished the group stage with a perfect record - the only team that accomplished this feat at the EURO 2012. Goals from Lukas Podolski and Lars Bender were enough to see off a spirited performance by the Danes who got on the scoreboard thanks to Michael Krohn-Dehli's header. But that was all the Danes managed meaning they have to bid adieu from the Quarter-Finals. Germany will play Greece for a place in the Semi-Finals
The Netherlands' miserable EURO campaign has also come to an end. Manager Bert van Marwijk made some changes to the starting XI and at first it appeared they might have a chance to pull "a Greece". Rafael van der Vaart put the Dutch in front with a terrific curling shot from outside of the box but the Oranje defense couldn't handle Portugal and Cristiano Ronaldo. Ronaldo's brace secured the win for Portugal and booked them a place against the Czech Republic in the next round.

Today Spain play Croatia, and at least one of these two teams will be going on to the next round, while Italy take on Republic of Ireland who have nothing left to play for as they have already been eliminated. Italy in the meantime need a win and hope that the Spain vs Croatia game doesn't end in a high-scoring draw.
