Messi s Argentina look to pull away in W.Cup qualifiers - Yahoo! Eurosport

Barcelonas serial hat-trick scorer Lionel Messi will be looking to take up where he last left off as Argentina captain when he leads his country against Ecuador in a 2014 World Cup qualifier on Saturday. Messi scored his first and only hat-trick for Argentina in a 3-1 friendly win away to Switzerland in February so pasting over cracks in coach Alejandro Sabellas defence.

The Spanish soccer federation (RFEF) has agreed a preliminary deal with Chinese promoter United Vansen International Sport for the Spanish Super Cup to take place in Beijing from 2013, the federation said on Friday. They did not publish financial details but Spanish media reported that the deal, which has a seven-year duration and needs approval by the RFEF general assembly, would net the federation around 40 million euros

This season Afellay was ruled out for more than seven months after suffering a serious knee injury in training. He returned for Barcelona towards the end of April and, more importantly for the Dutch, marked his international comeback with a goal – after seven minutes – in the 2-0 friendly victory against Slovakia."When you've played football for as long as I have then you don't lose the feeling for it just because you're out for a few months," he said.

"Right now, the only thing I know is that I have three more years left on my contract with Benfica," he told Goal.com. "Many times, a player is the last person to know what is happening. I am fine in Lisbon and happy, this was a very important season for me. I hope that next season will be better, that is the only thing I can hope for. I do not know if Madrid have asked about me. But I cannot say anything else."

On from this, the player’s agent has now confirmed that the Spanish champions’ interest is genuine, but that an approach has not yet taken place. "It is true, the interest from Real Madrid for Pablo is real," Dario Decoud told gazzettagiallorossa.it. "But, the Spaniards have not yet turned to me, they should speak with Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini. Right now though, no offers have been received."

Cristiano Ronaldo denies autograph to 10-year-old girl wearing Barcelona shirt - Goal.com

"When I went to pick her up, I did not find the happy and cheerful girl that I expected, but a sad one," Filipe explained. "When I asked her what was going on, she simply shrugged and said: 'Cristiano did not want to sign me an autograph because I am wearing Barcelona's shirt'. I did not know what to say. This is the shirt that she had put on to go to practice and that her mother had bought her when she visited Barcelona. It was the symbol of love and nothing else (had she visited Madrid the shirt would have obviously been different), and ended up causing her great sadness.

However, according to the finance official, the Blancos have informed Bremen of their intention to break the agreement and instead look elsewhere for lucrative opportunities during the close season. "It seems Real will not play against us and would rather pay a fine than do so," Filbry told Kreiszeitung.

"This year we made many signings, and Leonardo will not stop there," he told Arena SporTV. "He wants to bring in more players. "I think the team will be strong enough. We will be able to fight on equal terms with Barcelona, Real and Bayern."

Chile have the attacking talent to make all of these tactical dilemmas go away, but it's been a while since Humberto Suazo and Alexis Sanchez were at their best. If they can get back to playing like they did under Marcelo Bielsa, Borghi can go back to not worrying about protecting his defense. No one wants to see Chile move away from their entertaining 'three forwards and a playmaker' attacking style.
