On Saturday, the DFB confirmed that Khedira suffered an ACL tear and an MCL tear, and he now faces a battle to recover his fitness before the end of the season.

La Roja beat their African opponents 2-1 on Saturday night, but the match was marred by the sight of the Real Madrid man going off on the stroke of half time. The former Liverpool was initially thought to have suffered a severe ankle sprain, but Coach Vicente del Bosque confirmed after the match that Alonso had only picked up ‘a knock’.

Madrid can sign Khedira replacement now | Football Espana
Real Madrid may not wait until January to sign a new midfielder, according to reports in the Spanish Press. Marca have unearthed an LFP ruling that states: "Outside of the two official transfer windows, licences can be granted when a player is unable to play through illness or injury, if this period that the player is inactive for reaches five months."
