Luis Filipe Sclari’s Brazil will play in the final of the 2013 Confederations Cup after they defeated Uruguay by 2-1 in the semi-finals of the competition. A goal from Fred on the 40th minute, in addition to Paulinho’s goal at the end of the match, saw the Brazilians defeat their Uruguayan counterparts.

The Real Madrid fans stood to applaud Maradona’s goal in the League Cup, a competition Barcelona went on to win.

Isco, 21, has long been linked with Madrid as well as Manchester City but the arrival of new Real coach Carlo Ancelotti, who was unveiled as the successor to Jose Mourinho on Wednesday, appears to have accelerated the transfer. Spanish newspaper AS quoted Perez telling Radio Nacional: "There is an agreement with the club and the player. He will be presented next week after the medical."

The player's agent confirmed that discussions between the two clubs have begun and that a deal should go through. Speaking to Radio Mana Mana Sport, Diego Tavano said: "The negotiations are taking place and the fee will be around 18million Euros. "The attacker is well liked in Spain and he just needs to find the right emotional balance because he has incredible qualities."

The French-born Moroccan international has joined Juan Ignazio Martinez’ side for the new season on a three-year contract. Whilst a fee for the 24-year-old is undisclosed, Valladolid have explained in confirming the player’s signing that part of the agreement entitles Lens to a share in profits made if Bergdich is subsequently sold on.
