David Villa's season started much like the way his first Barca season began - he was a goalscoring machine. Villa's longest goalscoring drought lasted just five and in two of those game he came on the pitch late in the game as a substitute.
A lot was expected from Alexis Sánchez in his first season in Barcelona and while the Chilean didn't disappoint he left fans with a feeling that he could've done more. Three separate muscle injuries cost Alexis a lot of playing time.

This morning, Carles Puyol was given the green light to play by the Club’s Medical Services. The captain underwent surgery on the 12th of May to correct an osteochondral injury in his right knee.
