With the game against Alaves fast approaching the medical staff has given David Villa the medical all-clear.

David Villa's season started much like the way his first Barca season began - he was a goalscoring machine. Villa's longest goalscoring drought lasted just five and in two of those game he came on the pitch late in the game as a substitute.

Four years ago few people knew about Sergio Busquets but now you can't imagine FC Barcelona without the defensive midfielder on the pitch. This season Busquets once again proved that he is one of the best in the business.

It was believed Thiago would struggle to find playing time in Barcelona's stacked midfield but Thiago wasn't going to be denied. The youngster made a seamless transition to Pep Guardiola's team, making nearly as many appearances as Andres Iniesta.

If Cesc would spread all the goals and assists over a full season we would all say that this season was very good by anyone's standards. But with the majority coming in the first half of the year one can't help but to have a bad taste in the mouth.

This morning, Carles Puyol was given the green light to play by the Club’s Medical Services. The captain underwent surgery on the 12th of May to correct an osteochondral injury in his right knee.

The summer holidays are over for Valdés, Piqué, Cesc, Pedro, Sergio Busquets, Iniesta and Xavi. The Euro 2012 champions were at the Club this morning for their pre-season medicals, two weeks after the rest of the squad joined up.
