FC Barcelona have reached an agreement with Javier Mascherano to extend the player's contract through the 2016 season. The Argentine’s buyout clause will be set at 100 million euros. The player will sign his new contract in the coming weeks.
"My dream was always to come [to the Games]," the 23-year-old told reporters after Wednesday's 1-0 warm-up win over Mexico. "I had spoken with [coach Luis] Milla about it when I was still at Valencia."
