On December 24th at 11 o'clock Ibrahim Afellay signed a four and a half year contract that includes a €100 million buy-out clause. Barcelona have paid €3 million to PSV Eindhoven and will also pay them a percentage of any sell on fee. Teams have also agreed on a friendly match in PSV's centenary game in 2013.
Afellay is a product of the Eindhoven's youth academy and is a young, versatile midfielder with a good long shot. He has appeared in 214 games for PSV and scored 40 goals, he also has 31 caps and 2 goals for the Dutch national team.
He is going to wear the No. 20 shirt and initial reports say that he is going to make his Barcelona debut against Levante UD on January 2nd. He is expected to be the only winter transfer market signing by the club.
