Today was a glorious day for Barcelona. Not only did Messi win the Ballon d'Or for the second year in a row with Xavi and Iniesta completing the podium, but Barcelona also had six players in the FIFPro World XI: Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, Puyol, Piqué and David Villa, five of which La Masia products (only exception is David).
We at Barca Blaugranes would like to congratulate all these players and also the ones who were left out. This is a testament to what a special team Pep Guardiola's Barcelona is. There's no doubt that it will go down as one of the best, if not the best, of all-time. These players have won everything there is to win in football and they're all legends. We as Barcelona fans can only be proud that they play in our team.
Pep Guardiola was snubbed of the Coach of the Year award, but there's little doubt that, with these players at this disposal, it's only a matter of time until the Barcelona managers wins the award as well. With such great and commited players and managers plus a new generation of stars coming from La Masia, Barcelona's golden years promise to go on.
