This Wednesday’s session was notable for missing players. Five players, Alves, Adriano, Maxwell, Pedro and Messi, all finished the match in Seville with injury problems. Also not present were the injured Puyol, and Abidal, who will have surgery this Thursday on the tumour on his liver.

Andreu Fontàs has been a key part of Luis Enrique’s Barça B defence and he made his debut for the first team on August 31st 2009, when he came on for the last few minutes against Sporting at the Nou Camp. He has continued to impress on his few appearances since then and the team have not conceded a single goal whenever he’s been on the pitch.
