Yes FC Barcelona fans, you read the title correctly. Dani Alves has agreed on a three year contract extension which will keep him with the club until 2015. The official buy-out clause number has not yet been released, but I can guarantee you it will not be a small figure. Dani will meet with club president Sandro Rosell on Wednesday and they will sign the contract at around 19:00 CET.
Sandro Rosell wrote on Twitter: "Very good news for Barca. Dani Alves has renewed his contract."
Dani Alves had only one season left in his old deal and throughout the season he was linked with a move to a many different clubs, including Premier League sides Manchester City and Chelsea. Even Johan Cruyff said it may in Barcelona's best interests to allow the Brazilian full-back to move on, but now Dani will be able to continue his brilliant work on the right side. In 141 games for Blaugrana he scored 11 times but he is needed the most when it comes to assisting the trio of Barcelona strikers and in under three years he has been credited with 48 helpers.
