Sevilla have confirmed that striker Frederic Kanoute is to stay at the club. Speculation had been growing that the 33-year-old would be leaving the club after six years at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, having scored 75 league goals in that time.

Midfielder Ricardo León Brito has joined Sporting de Gijón from Tenerife and thus becomes the club's second signing ahead of the coming Liga BBVA season. The player has agreed to a deal that will keep him with the 'sportinguistas' for the next three seasons.
