The season is over for FC Barcelona and it has been about a week since we’ve seen the Barcelona outfit playing football all together. Last Sunday we were celebrating their 4th Champions League victory and this past week we have enjoyed the flurry of transfer rumors as the summer transfer window officially opened last week.
The biggest transfer news, which seems likely to happen, is Giuseppe Rossi from Villarreal. He’s seems keen on the move and I believe he would be a great buy for Barcelona. He may come at a hefty price, a reported fee of between €25 million and €30 million is what will be required to acquire the young strikers services. Is it worth it? Only time will tell really. But he does look like a good prospect.
In other transfer news last week Cesc FabregaZZZZzzzzzz… It’s a never ending Saga isn’t it. There were rumors that Cesc and Barca came to personal terms this week, and just needed to crack a deal with Arsenal. But that news also came out during the winter transfer window and also last summer. How many personal terms does Cesc need to add?
Our editor-in-exile says,"I am overjoyed that Ibrahimovic will stay in Milan."
Some Barcelona players were involved in international games this week. Highlights: Abidal scored an own goal, Busquets, Villa, Pique, and Iniesta all involved in the 4-0 demolition of the USMNT.
Puyol underwent knee surgery and is expected to be out of commission for two or three months.
It was reported that Messi was punched in the face by a teenager in Rosario, Argentina, only later for Messi to confirm that he had in fact not been punched in the face but the kid missed him.
Not much else going on in the Barcaverse. Enjoy trying to fill the void!
