Tonight, on the 21st of July, 2011, Barcelona have announced that they have officially reached an agreement to sign Alexis Sanchez from Udinese.
The fee is set at €26.5 million, with a further €11.5 million in variables. The terms of the variables have not yet been disclosed, but one can imagine they centre around playing a certain number of games, scoring a certain number of goals, and perhaps if Barcelona win the league or Champions League.
Alexis signs for 5 years, and the signing will be made official on Monday, after the player undergoes his medical tests, and finally puts pen to paper, signing the contract.
This puts an end to the Sanchez saga, and now the priority will switch to securing Arsenal captain, Cesc Fabregas, and after years of speculation and debate, the end seems to be in sight.
