FC Barcelona returned to training on Monday morning after having Sunday off. All 14 available first team players were present, including Alexis, who was declared fully fit on Saturday. The Barça B players that travelled to Villareal were also involved, namely Isaac Cuenca, Jonathan dos Santos, Tello and Sergi Roberto, as well as Rosell, Espinosa, Balliu and Sergi Gómez.

Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho has received some disappointing news from the treatment table in the build-up to Saturday's La Liga match away to Getafe as defender Marcelo is doubtful due to injury, according to AS. The Brazilian left-back picked up a leg injury in last weekend's 3-1 win over Real Zaragoza, but stayed on the pitch until the final whistle as Mourinho had already used all three substitutions.

Diego Godin scored Atletico Madrid's goal in a 1-0 win over Osasuna - but it was on-loan Chelsea keeper Thibaut Courtois who ensured them of the three points at the Reyno de Navarra. Espanyol have announced that they have completed the signing of Neuchatel striker Kalu Uche. The Nigeria international had been on the lookout for a new club after Neuchatel were thrown out of the Swiss Super League for falsifying a bank document provided as a financial guarantee in 2011.

Espanyol have signed Inter Milan midfielder Philippe Coutinho on loan for the remainder of the Primera Division campaign. Coutinho said he hopes "to help the club to enter the Champions League" and is "very happy to be joining a great club and a great team".

The Mexico international has made just four substitute appearances in the Premier League this season and is keen to move in order to play more regular first-team football. Villarreal had been in talks to sign the 22-year-old earlier this month, while Granada have also been linked with a move for the former Barcelona youngster. However, Dos Santos' representative Vicente Montes says his client is not near to completing a move away from White Hart Lane before Tuesday's transfer deadline.

Ortiz to leave Rangers for Almeria - Yahoo! Eurosport
Rangers midfielder Juanma Ortiz has returned to Spain with a view to joining his former club Almeria on loan. The Scottish champions have reached a verbal agreement with the Spaniards over a short-term deal until the end of the season.
