Barça just don’t stop and with this evening’s win they made it 13 wins out of the first 14 games in La Liga so far this season - the best ever start to a league season by any Spanish team. The record was beaten with a great display against Athletic Bilbao, with an outstanding first 45 minutes . The team warmed the crowd with a classic, intense and brilliant display on a cold night at the Camp Nou.

After leaving Pelé’s record of 75 goals (1958) in the dust, Leo Messi is on the verge of breaking the all-time record set by Gerd Müller, who scored 85 goals in 1972. With his two goals this Saturday against Athletic Club Bilbao, Barça’s forward took his year tally to 84 goals - meaning he’s only one goal adrift of equalling the record. Messi has six games left in 2012 to equal or break the German's record.

Two La Liga matchdays confirmed | FC Barcelona
This Saturday FC Barcelona was handed the schedule for two more La Liga matches. Tito Vilanova’s team will face Atlético Madrid on Sunday, December 16, at 21.00. It will be the last game at the Camp Nou of the calendar year. Six days later, on Saturday, December 22, Barça will play away to Valladolid at 18.00.

Pellegrino, a former Valencia player, has guided the club into the last 16 of the Champions League this season and they still have a chance to top Group F ahead of Bayern Munich depending on the results of next week's games. However, a poor start to their domestic campaign and nine goals conceded in their last two La Liga outings was too much to take for Llorente.
