Cesc Fabregas Injures Thigh, Out for 3-4 Weeks

Jasper Juinen

Cesc Fabregas was forced out of the La Liga clash against Real Betis in the tenth minute, showing clear discomfort. Alexis Sanchez replaced the Barça midfielder and Cesc immediately went down the tunnel to determine the problem. It has now been confirmed that Fabregas has a thigh muscle injury and from the first diagnosis it has been determined that he will miss three to four weeks.

More tests will be taken tomorrow but if the recovery time is confirmed Fabregas is expected to miss from three to five games, including both Copa del Rey games against Córdoba. Even though Fabregas will miss relatively few games considering the time he will spend on the sidelines he will be sorely missed by Barça. Cesc has been in great form this season and has scored seven goals and added nine assists in 21 appearances.
