UEFA Champions League: Live Thread

After Bayern Munich and Marseille secured their places in the quarter-finals last night, we are down to the final night of the Round of Sixteen matches. Looking to clinch their spots in the quarter-final draw that will take place this Friday are AVB-less Chelsea, surprise package Napoli, a resolute CSKA Moscow and of course, Real Madrid.

While Napoli outplayed Chelsea en route to a 3-1 victory in their first leg, Real Madrid struggled to a 1-1 draw in Russia meaning that the league leaders still have work to do tonight. Fortunately for them, I envisioned Keisuke Honda scoring a belting free-kick to send CSKA through, but the Japanese star hasn’t even made the bench, presumably due to injury. Anyway, the Russian outfit are far from a one man team, and however slim their chances may be, we can hope can’t we?
