The Tito Vilanova era has arrived. The new manager and his team have started strong with a 2-1 win away over SV Hamburg in the first of their five summer European friendlies. In his first game at the Barça helm, Vilanova sent out all eight of his available first-team players - Pinto, Alves, Mascherano, Bartra, Adriano, Dos Santos, Alexis and Afellay- and a compliment of Barça B players - Deulofeu, Espinosa and Sergi Roberto.

The Azulgrana manager considers that the match was a good exercise, after the summer break, for the players to "remember the right ideas." He added, "in general terms we played a good match, we controlled ball possession, and we played most of the game on the opponent’s side of the pitch. We also pressured them high up the pitch," said Vilanova.

Tito Vilanova: Afellay will start the season with us -
Barcelona coach Tito Vilanova has guaranteed that Ibrahim Afellay will not leave the club in the summer transfer window. "Afellay is a player of great class, there is no doubt about it," Vilanova told NUsport. "Like always, he is part of our selection. We will begin the season with him."

Marc Muniesa out for six months | FC Barcelona
Tests on Marc Muniesa this Wednesday morning have revealed that the defender has torn the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, as predicted yesterday. He is expected to take six months to recover from the injury, according to an announcement today by the Medical Services. He will require surgery on a date yet to be confirmed.

Piqué: "I’m very happy to play for a team like Barça" | FC Barcelona
Gerard Piqué, who is in China on holiday, participated in an online chat session with Chinese Barça fans on the social network Tencent Weibo. The Azulgrana defender fielded questions from the Chinese supporters for half an hour, the questions ranged from both the personal aspects of the player’s life to his views on playing professional football for Barça.

Edgar Ié, Barça B’s new player, will be out of action for three months. The Portuguese player, who successfully underwent surgery this Tuesday afternoon on the fifth metatarsal of his left foot, is scheduled to be released from hospital on Thursday morning.

Sevilla have confirmed they have completed the signing of Lens midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia for an undisclosed fee. The 19-year-old midfielder landed in Seville on Tuesday morning and underwent the routine medical checks in the afternoon before signing a five-year contract with the Spanish side.

Malaga play down Cazorla talk | Sky Sports
Some reports in England have even claimed that the Gunners have held talks with the player. But Malaga have told Sky Sports that they are not in the market to sell their star man. "Cazorla is not for sale, we do not talk about rumours in the press and our plans are not to even negotiate his exit," a source confirmed to Sky Sports.

Uche´s sale is secured | LFP
The contract was signed, and now the documentation has also been verified to allow Uche to play football in Turkey. The now ex-striker of Espanyol left the Spanish club last week and their training ground at Peralada to finalize his exit details, his medical tests for his new team and to start officially with his new club in Istanbul.

Asier Riesgo Unamuno has extended his contract with Osasuna for three more seasons, until the 30th of June 2016. The previous agreement of the club was to have ended on the 30th June 2013. Since renewing his contract, the goalkeeper has commented that "I am very happy because of the trust the club has shown me. My hope was to stay at Osasuna and I am very happy".

Valladolid signs Rukavina | LFP
Antonio Rukavina plays in the Serbian national side and comes from the German team 1860 Munich and he will be the new right back at Real Valladolid. The defender, chosen by Miroslav Djukic, with whom he coincided in the under-21 Serbian side who were crowned runners up in Europe in 2007, comes in on a free transfer and has committed to three seasons with Valladolid.

Carmona signs with Sporting | LFP
Carlos Carmona has become the third reinforcement for Sporting Gijon for the next Liga Adelante season. The new "rojiblanco" player trained in the ranks of Mallorca, being the youngest player to debut for the Balearic club. In the 2004-05 season he was on loan to Valladolid, and later in 2006 he signed with Cartagena.
