London Olympics: Spain vs Morocco: Live Game Thread

New, comments

Labelled as one of the favourites in the build-up to the tournament, Spain have thoroughly disappointed thus far in the 2012 Olympics. Undoubtedly, expectations were raised with the senior side's victory at Euro 2012, but even so, Spain should have at least qualified from their group. However, after two consecutive losses at the hands of Japan and Honduras, Spain are heading home. Today's match is little more than a chance to salvage some pride - another loss would be the worst Spanish performance in recent memory after all. Martin Montoya finds himself demoted to the bench alongside team mate Cristian Tello, while there is no rest for Jordi Alba. It seems Luis Milla isn't in a charitable mood...

Spain XI (4-2-3-1): David De Gea; Cesar Azpilicueta, Alberto Botia, Inigo Martinez, Jordi Alba; Javi Martinez, Oriol Romeu; Iker Muniain, Juan Mata, Isco; Adrian
