NextGen Series: Tottenham Hotspur 0-2 FC Barcelona: Match Highlights

Barcelona picked up a valuable win last night in the NextGen Series, comfortably beating Tottenham Hotspur 2-0, with both goals coming courtesy of Sandro Ramirez. After stumbling to a surprise draw in their opening group stage match against RSC Anderlecht, Spurs were hit favourites, especially with home advantage, but Jordi Vinyals' young team put in an excellent performance and deserved all three points. While the Blaugrana started slowly, they did grow into the game and their opener came in the 19th minute.

A long-pass found Adama Traore on the right-hand side and the winger displayed an electric burst of pace to find the room for a low cross which Sandro turned in at the near post. Tottenham were creating chances, but thanks to some errant finishing from the usually clinical Souleyman Coulibaly and the help of the crossbar, Barcelona were ahead at the break.

It continued to stay close for the majority of the second half before Barcelona sealed the win in the least-Barcelona way you could ever imagine. A long-ball over the top, straight from the keeper and Sandro was through on goal, and the Spanish Under-17 international (who has seven goals in three appearances at that international level) calmly placed the ball into the top corner of Vigouroux's goal. Despite some late pressure from the hosts, Vinyals' team held on for a morale-boosting win.
