It’s been a couple of weeks since we posted to reveal our new logo and as part of that post, we also revealed that Barca Blaugranes and indeed the entire SB Nation network will be undergoing an overhaul in the near future. Well, today, I’m here to outline some of the key features to this new platform, and if I could describe it in a sentence, all I would say is that it is freaking awesome!
The changes will be going live very soon and this major new overhaul will shorten loading times, making sites load faster and therefore it’s going to be faster to get to the content you want to read. That’s a huge plus point in my eyes, and I’m sure you will agree, loading times could be better on the site. Well, thanks the overhaul, loading times have improved all across the network. Not only that, but the layout has improved as well, so you will see the most relevant content when you load up Barca Blaugranes. Furthermore, the network have worked incredibly hard to ensure that the experience is the same, no matter what platform you use – whether you are viewing the site on your laptop, mobile phone or tablet; no matter where you are, the experience will not change. Even resizing your window will not change the experience, which will be amazing for those watching the game at the same time as commenting on the game thread!
However, despite all these changes, the overhaul will not take away or change any of the community aspects you love like Fanshots and Fanposts, while the commenting system has not changed either. We’ve had a chance to play around on the new platform, and we are all in agreement: this is a huge step in the right direction, not only for Barca Blaugranes, but for the entire network.
