Vicente del Bosque, the mastermind behind Spain's success at the past summer's UEFA European Championships has been named as the FIFA Coach of the Year, despite competition from Pep Guardiola, and Jose Mourinho. In an illustrious career, Del Bosque has guided Spain to their first World Cup triumph and has also lead Real Madrid to UEFA Champions League glory, but this marks the first time that the veteran coach has scooped the award.
Despite missing out on the night, Guardiola made headlines by revealing that he "is ready to start coaching again", although he would not be drawn into revealing where he will resume his highly successful managerial career. Let the rumours begin...
