Pedro proved to be Barça's Christmas present in Getafe, leading a great fighback with three goals for an important win at a tough ground and with a side devastated by injuries and suspensions. Two early goals from Getafe looked to have set an even more difficult task for Martino's team, but they fought back with quality, character and pride. Pedro scored three, set up another and forced a penalty with a wonderful performance.

"We are growing and that’s what we have to focus on. We maintained our form despite being down two goals and we ended up playing a really good game," said the manager, who added that "we played well for 70 minutes. It’s not easy to come back from a 2-0."

On Monday at midday, Andrés Iniesta signed a new contract binding him to FC Barcelona until June 30, 2018. The event took place in the Club offices, where the midfielder was joined by president Sandro Rosell, and the vice-president responsible for the Sports Area, Josep Maria Bartomeu, as well as director of sport Andoni Zubizarreta and the player’s agent.

He immediately underwent tests on the injury after the game and it has now been confirmed that he has a tear in his left eardrum.
