Neymar has, thus far, been a terrific success. No doubt. But his was a presidential signing. Despite his football merit, the Brazilian's goals, assists and attitude aren't things that give credit to an otherwise dull performance by the Camp Nou football department. Victor Valdes is leaving, determined to change his vista. Even though he swears blind that his principal driving force is to experience new scenery, this is something that should never have been allowed to happen.

Barça have dominated La Liga throughout 2013, leading from start to finish, spanning the 2012/13 and 2013/14 seasons. Under Tito Vilanova, the team won last season's title and Tata Martino has kept them in top spot over the first 17 games of this campaign.

Goals spread out amongst the players | FC Barcelona
Pedro is the team's leading scorer in La Liga with 10, whilst Messi and Alexis have both scored 8, Cesc 7 and Neymar six. Messi is the top scorer in Europe with 6 of the team's 16 goals inteh Champions League. Neymar has also scored three in the Champions League.

Mascherano on Napoli wishlist -
Napoli are set to dip back into the transfer market in January to aid their bid for the Serie A title, with Erik Lamela and Javier Mascherano top of their shopping list. The Partenopei made the headlines throughout the summer with their spending spree, which saw them snap up the likes of Gonzalo Higauin and Jose Callejon.

Leo Messi tops The Guardian's 2013 100 best players list | FC Barcelona
The leading English newspaper The Guardian has published its annual list of the World’s 100 Top Footballers and Leo Messi again tops the poll, with four Barça players in the Top Ten – Messi, Iniesta, Neymar and Xavi.

2013 Samba Gold Trophy: Final days to vote for Adriano and Alves | FC Barcelona
2013 is coming to an end and so is the voting period for the Samba Gold award that both Dani Alves and Adriano Correia are eligible to win. This award, which is currently in its sixth edition, is given out to the best Brazilian player in Europe. Both FC Barcelona players are among the 30 finalists and the voting period closes on December 30.
