David Villa has suffered from a nephritic colic infection and is currently undergoing treatment in a hospital. The FC Barcelona medical staff has stated that Villa is doubtful for the next match against Granada.
The medical staff has confirmed this condition is a result of kidney stones. Though extremely painful, most cases do not have many long-lasting effects.
The all-time top scorer for the Spanish national team, "El Guaje" had missed half of last season as well as the Euro 2012 tournament with a serious leg injury.
But this season, Villa has been in great form in front of goal, tallying 10 strikes across all competitions - good enough for second on the team behind Lionel Messi.
