A goal from Ramos with eight minutes left saw Real Madrid take a rather grey Clasico after Messi had equalised Benzema’s opener in the first half. Valdés was sent off after the final whistle after remonstrating with the ref who denied Barça an apparently clear late penalty when Adriano was brought down in the box.

The game between Barça’s reserve side and Las Palmas ended in a three-all draw. Las Palmas took an early lead thanks to a strike from Tato, but Rafinha brought Barça level just before the break. Deulofeu was decisive in the second half as he fired Barça ahead. However, with 10 minutes to go, Oier committed a penalty and he was shown a red card.

Los Leones bagged the game-winner in the 63rd minute. Markel Susaeta slotted home into the lower left of the net after intercepting Marc Bertrán's pass and finishing the move with a right-footed shot. Osasuna are in 15th place, just three points above the relegation zone with a record of seven wins, 12 losses and seven draws after 26 games.

Deportivo La Coruna brought to an end their six-match losing streak but still remain deep in trouble at the foot of the Primera Division after being held at home by Rayo Vallecano. It might have been even worse for the Galician side after they found themselves on the back foot for much of the first half and then reduced to 10 men in the closing stages when veteran defender Carlos Marchena was sent off.

Mallorca snatched a late 2-1 win at Granada to record their first Primera Division victory in 10 matches. The hosts took an early lead through Nolito but Alfaro levelled not long after. Granada had the greater number of chances throughout the match but a last-gasp headed goal by substitute Tomer Hemed gave the visitors all three points and their first win of 2013.
