FC Barcelona News: 6 March 2013; Victor Valdes Given Four Game Ban, Real Madrid Advance in Champions League

The Primera Division leaders will have to make do without the services of their first-choice goalkeeper for a number of weeks. Barcelona have announced on their official website that Victor Valdes has been handed a four-match suspension following his dismissal in Saturday's 2-1 La Liga loss away against Real Madrid.

After two days off, the FC Barcelona first team was back at work on Tuesday morning on pitch 1 at the Ciutat Esportiva. There were 20 first team players available, while Xavi Hernández did physiotherapy as he recovers from a hamstring injury and Pedro and Dos Santos, who both have colds, worked out in the gym.

Real Madrid’s Angel Di Maria faces tests later today to determine the extent of a suspected hamstring injury suffered against Manchester United. The Argentine was forced out of the Champions League Last 16 second leg before half-time complaining of discomfort in his left leg.
