The best that La Liga has to offer, taking on the very best of the Bundesliga; just who will emerge victorious? Over the years, both these sides have delighted football fans the world over with their unique styles of football - on the one hand you have Barcelona, with their emphasis on "tiki-taka" and on the other, you have Bayern Munich, who move the ball quickly, efficiently; and ultimately reap the rewards. On paper, there's no clear winner. In the history books, there's no clear winner. In fact, of all the matches Barcelona have played this season, this is arguably the toughest to call. Of course, everyone has faith in the Blaugrana - how can you not, following the past few years of success? - and on their day, Barca are capable of beating any team in World Football, including Bayern Munich. But equally, one could say the exact same thing about Bayern Munich.
The ease with which they disposed of Juventus in the quarter-finals was frightening, and to mathematically secure their domestic title with over a month to spare is almost unthinkable. Bayern are the "real deal" so to speak, and really, all they need to secure their place at the best team in the world is the UEFA Champions League. The same trophy that eluded them just eleven months ago. Chelsea may be wallowing in the UEFA Europa League, but this is effectively a chance for revenge. Win the title now, with Barcelona and either Real Madrid or Borussia Dortmund in the way - and all will be forgiven. Will the prize of victory motivate Bayern to a win tonight at the Allianz Arena, or will Barcelona prove they still have what it takes to conquer Europe by securing a favourable result?
