Sometimes It’s Hard to Say Goodbye!!!

People who did not watch the Mallorca match on Saturday might have had to pinch themselves on reading the review in the morning. We had Cexsis performance that night. Not that I was against them or something. They work hard, and in a team there can only be one in the center of attention. And when he is on a break, it is your time to step up and that’s what they did. People who are critical towards them should check the statistic chart and the work rate, and they will definitely be surprised.

Yesterday’s match was perfect. Abidal played (Damn that guy has some spirit!!!), Tito holding the reigns again, we got to see a Manita again and a Alegras (did not want it to seem that I am partial towards Cesc) performance. But deep below the little kid inside felt a little low.

Pep Guardiola left a year back and Tito made sure we do not miss him on the sidelines. But off the pitch, Pep was something else. Someone you can idolize, someone you can follow, someone who is so calm yet so strong, someone who inspires you and next season he will be back on the pitch. But this time for a different FCB side. It will seem weird at the start and will take us (me at least) some time to get used to.

Not only is Pep gone, but also Valdes will be leaving (that’s what he says). The guy who does not get enough credit for what he does, but he gets the most criticism for something every goalkeeper does - concede goals.

The little kid inside me is not happy that they will be elsewhere, but I am glad that this ending is on a happy note and this is how farewells should be. On the practical side we accept that this will be our last meeting together, but life surprises us and definitely in football we are used to seeing many surprises.

All I wanted to say to them is that "We respect you and thank you for all the smiles you have given us, not only the strength and courage on the pitch but also off it".

All the best and thank you to be a part of our lives!!!!
