Let the fun begin. Less than 24 hours after the conclusion of the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup, Thiago Silva has broken his silence on speculation linking him with a summer move to FC Barcelona, revealing that Tito Vilanova personally invited him to join the Blaugrana this summer. The brief chat took place in the aftermath of Barcelona's UEFA Champions League tie with Paris Saint-Germain, although Silva has not specified whether or not he is open to a move away from the Parc des Princes.

As per @Barcastuff, Thiago Silva went on to declare his admiration for Barcelona coach Tito Vilanova, who has made the defense his number one priority this summer after a disappointing UEFA Champions League exit at the hands of eventual winners, Bayern Munich, but Silva would not comment on his interest in joining Barcelona -- at least directly. The Brazilian captain also revealed that there are no negotiations at present, clarifying that he is very happy at PSG, but left the door open just a little -- remarking that you never quite know what the future holds in football.

There were no indications that the rumours were affecting his performances in the heart of defense at the Confederations Cup, but Silva hopes this uncertainty will be resolved as soon as possible -- perhaps urging the Blaugrana to make their move now. Certainly, these comments can be interpreted in many ways -- but Silva will not be misrepresented with his quotes regarding Neymar and Lionel Messi, calling the duo a "dream team; the best team in the world".

And at the end of the day, who wouldn't want to join the "best team in the world"...
