The 25-year-old has agreed a three-year contract with the Basques and returns to the club where he started his career, having made 17 La Liga appearances for Los Leones between 2008 and 2010.

Francisco, 34, has been in charge of Almeria's reserve side for the last two seasons in Segunda Division B and replaces Javi Gracia, who it was announced on Friday would be leaving the club after failing to reach an agreement on a new contract.
