Unless you've been trapped under a rock without access to the internet, you'll know that Neymar could make his Barcelona debut tonight against Lechia Gdansk, and everyone is super excited to see the Brazilian superstar in action -- particularly alongside Lionel Messi. After all, this has been a couple of years in the making; virtually ever since Neymar burst onto the scene, he's been linked with a move to the Camp Nou where he could link-up with the four-time Ballon d'Or winner -- and now we are just a few hours from possibly seeing the two together. On the same pitch. On the same team. In the same blaugrana jersey.
So, sure, this is a friendly match that will ultimately mean nothing, regardless of the score, but there's a sense that we are going to witness history; this is likely to be the first game in what could be a record-breaking, ground-breaking partnership. With any luck, we will look back on the Messi-Neymar combination with fond memories of trophies and awards, remembering that it all started here tonight in Poland.
Given that Neymar is almost certain to feature at some stage tonight, the question is whether or not he will mark his debut with a goal. Lecha Gdansk do have home advantage, but their recent record suggests that they will pose no real threat to their visitors and therefore, we could be in store for another landslide victory.
