FC Barcelona News: 9 July 2013; 2013-14 Fixture List Released, David Villa and Eric Abidal Find New Clubs

Éric Abidal joins Monaco | FC Barcelona
Éric Abidal – who played for Barça between 2007 and 2013- will be playing for newly promoted Monaco in the French League next season, joining Falcao, James Rodríguez, Toulalan and Joao Moutinho, who have also signed this summer.

Club reach deal in principal to sell David Villa to Atletico Madrid | FC Barcelona
FC Barcelona and Atletico Madrid have reached an agreement in principle for the transfer of David Villa. The deal is set to bring Barça a maximum of 5.1 million Euros, with 2.1 due this season, 2 more if Villa stays at Atletico next year and another million should he be at the Madrid club the season after. Barça also reserve the right to 50% of any sell on fee in the future.

On from yesterday’s announcement that Atleti had agreed a €5.1m deal to sign the 31-year-old from Barca, the player arrived in the Spanish capital in the early hours of Tuesday morning. Atleti have now confirmed that Villa has passed a preliminary medical examination, held at a clinic in Majadahonda, Madrid.

The 31-year-old Spain star completed a move to the Vicente Calderon for a potential eventual total of just €5.1m. However, Catalunya Radio report that both Spurs and Fiorentina had come forward with offers worth ‘€3m or €4m more’ to sign the striker this summer.

Tickets for the second leg of the Super Cup on sale from Tuesday | FC Barcelona
Tickets for the return leg of the Spanish Super Cup against Atletico Madrid on August 28th will go on sale at ten o’clock tomorrow, Tuesday. Ticket prices for the general public start at €19, whilst Club members can buy tickets with a 20% discount from €13. A maximum of six tickets per operation is allowed.

Valencia ahead in Dos Santos race - ESPN FC
Valencia could be pipped at the post by local rivals Villarreal in the race to sign Giovani dos Santos from Mallorca. Spanish sports daily Marca reported that Villarreal had initially intended to present Mexico international Dos Santos, along with former Mallorca team-mate Tomas Pina, last Friday but were unable to finalise personal terms in time.

Negredo to City rumours gather pace - ESPN FC
Sevilla have agreed a deal with Club Brugge to take Colombian striker Carlos Bacca to the Sanchez Pizjuan as a replacement for Alvaro Negredo, reports Spanish daily Marca. According to the newspaper, Bacca has long been "an obsession" for Sevilla’s sporting director Monchi and it seems that after agreeing a €7 million fee with the Belgian club, Sevilla finally have their man.
