According to British newspaper Daily Mail FC Barcelona has made an official offer for Chelsea centre-back David Luiz. The bid is believed to be around €35m, although reports from Spain suggest that the amount might be as low as €25m.
FC Barcelona's football director Raul Sanllehi flew to London for talks with Luiz' agent Giuliano Bertolucci on Tuesday.
Chelsea is expected to reject the offer. The Blues' new manager Jose Mourinho told reporters just yesterday that Luiz will not be joining the Catalans this summer.
Goal.com revealed last month that FC Barcelona had made a bid worth of €29m for the Brazilian. This offer, however, was rejected by Chelsea.
FC Barcelona has been on a hunt for a new centre-back all summer and players like Daniel Agger, Thiago Silva and Mats Hummels have all been linked with the club. It is expected that the Catalans will turn to one of those centre-backs in case the deal with David Luiz won't work out.
