Speaking in a press conference in Malaysia, the midfielder said: "My dream is to play here. I’ve never thought about leaving. I am at the best club." United responded on Wednesday afternoon when a spokesman said: "We appreciate Cesc is a contracted player at Barcelona and completely respect everything Cesc has said today."

Daniel Agger's Liverpool future is now in doubt after Barcelona stepped up their pursuit of the defender to add to Brendan Rodgers’ mounting problems. Liverpool are understood to have received an official bid for Agger - – who, like Suarez, also missed last night’s friendly with Valerenga – from Barcelona in the region of £15m after the Spaniards identified him as their first choice. It was rejected, but Liverpool are braced for a renewed offer and £25m would test their resolve.
