Argentina have booked a place at the 2014 World Cup after a 5-2 win over Paraguay in Asuncion on Tuesday. Alejandro Sabella's men were the dominant side at Estadio Defensores del Chaco, winning thanks to a brace of Lionel Messi penalties, plus goals from Sergio Aguero, Angel Di Maria and Maxi Rodriguez.

Neymar turned on the style as Brazil came from a goal down to beat Portugal 3-1 in an entertaining and competitive international friendly in Massachusetts. The Barcelona forward had a hand in all three of his team's goals, scoring one beauty himself, as the 2014 World Cup hosts at times gave an indication of why they are already considered one of the favourites to lift the trophy next summer.

Spain and Chile, two teams poised to qualify for the Brazil World Cup, faced off this Tuesday night in Geneva.
