This might not be the most glamorous match of the international break, but FYR Macedonia's clash against Wales is important from an FC Barcelona perspective -- and that's not just because of Gareth Bale's world-record transfer to our arch-rivals, Real Madrid. Sure, it'll be interesting to keep a closer eye on Bale, provided that he plays tonight; but it also provides us with an opportunity to see one of our talented youth prospects, David Babunski in action.
While Babunski's younger brother Dorian plies his trade for Real Madrid, David has stayed and fought for his place at the club, and has recently been promoted to the B team, where he wears the number 12 shirt. A versatile attacking midfielder, Babunski has been brought off the bench on a couple of occasions this season, and he's been so impressive at youth level for his country, that head coach Čedomir Janevski opted to give him his international debut in an impressive friendly win against Bulgaria just a few weeks ago. Replacing captain, and Macedonian legend, Goran Pandev (currently at Napoli, previously of Inter Milan), Babunski played half-an-hour and was humbled to have received his first cap.
Nicknamed "The Philosopher", Babunski is not expected to start for Macedonia, but could be introduced off the bench in the second-half.
