The Spanish capital went out in the first round, losing out to Istanbul after a tie-break situation. International Olympic Committee members eventually opted for Tokyo to host the game, as they triumphed over the Turkish city with 60 votes to 36.

Athletic Bilbao’s new San Mames stadium could be named as one of the venues for Euro 2020, according to reports. Mundo Deportivo believe that the Spanish Football Federation [RFEF] will nominate the newly-built stadium to UEFA as one of the 13 venues to host the European Championships in seven years’time.

AS have claimed that despite Madrid losing its bid to host the 2020 Olympic Games, Atletico Madrid will still move into a new stadium. The brand new ground was meant to be used as part of the Games, in seven years’ time. However, a vote in Buenos Aires on Saturday confirmed that Tokyo would host the sporting event.

Miroslav Djukic has praised his squad players after they defeated Real Valladolid in a friendly yesterday. Los Che defeated the Pucela last night, and the Serbian Coach has congratulated his team after a resounding win. "We need a big squad and today those players have taken advantage of their opportunity," he told a Press conference.
