Neymar's father claims Real Madrid offered €150 million for his son, but they chose Barça

Keyword: "THEY".

Barcelona's acquisition of Neymar Jr. is one of the most obscure episodes in the club's recent history. There are a number of twists and turns in this story, a lot of unanswered questions, and a fear that Barça may have cut corners and done an illegal operation to buy one of the most promising young stars in football history. That led to a gigantic investigation by the Spanish justice, with two people being the biggest targets: former president Sandro Rosell, and Neymar's father, Neymar Santos.

In fact, Neymar (the dad) went to court to testify about the case, and he revealed some details of what happened since 2011. He also claimed that Real Madrid made an enormous offer to buy his son, but Jr. wanted to be a Blaugrana from the start.

Sources present at the hearing described some details of what Father Neymar said:

He [Neymar the dad] claimed that Real Madrid offered €150 million, but they had already accepted the proposal from Barcelona months before the official offer from Madrid.

He also defended all contracts signed with Barça, including the one that made him an agent from the club in Brazil, a contract worth €2 million, which led Barcelona to gain preference to acquire three players from Santos FC (Gabriel, Giva and Victor Andrade).

Another deal, worth €4 million, granted Neymar's agency, N&N, the right to take care of Neymar [the son] and his interests in Brazil. Neymar [the father] is accused of using the money to open an office in the city of Barcelona, which was denied by the father.

Neymar's father received a comission for his son's transfer, as his so-called "agent". Neymar Santos also has the rights to 5% of his son's salaries, which was also defended as a legal job by the father.

This whole thing is a mess. Seriously. It could have been just about playing football and scoring goals, but unfortunately, we don't know anything about what really went on three years ago. Man, let's hope nothing bad happens to Barça because of it.
