La Liga: FC Barcelona 6-0 Rayo Vallecano: Highlights

A chance to relive Barcelona's 6-0 win over Rayo Vallecano on Saturday evening, a win that keeps Barca on top of La Liga

The last time FC Barcelona played a La Liga match at the Camp Nou, the result was met by derision and criticism from most Cules; you see, with a fanbase like this, all it can take is one result to shift public opinion. Thankfully, the very same can be said for positive results -- and after last night's return to the Camp Nou ended in an emphatic 6-0 win over Rayo Vallecano, Barcelona fans across the world are on cloud nine. From the first minute to the last, Barcelona utterly dominated poor Rayo, cruising to victory courtesy of goals from Lionel Messi (2), Adriano Correia, Alexis Sanchez, Pedro Rodriguez and the returning Neymar.

On another night, the scoreline could have been that much worse for the visitors too; the Blaugrana rattled the woodwork twice, saw another goal cleared off the line and were denied countless times by Rayo goalkeeper Ruben.

Creating chance after chance after chance, Barcelona sent a clear message not only to the rest of La Liga, but indeed the rest of world football -- not least Manchester City who face the unenviable task of trying to stop the Blaugrana juggernaut at the Etihad Arena on Tuesday. After all, this was a performance so incredible, so perfect that we probably haven't seen anything like it since 2011, when Pep Guardiola's team was at it's pomp. Will Barcelona be able to keep up this kind of form in midweek? Only time will tell...
