La Liga: FC Barcelona vs Real Sociedad: Predict the Score

A chance to predict the score of tonight's La Liga clash between FC Barcelona and Real Sociedad at the Anoeta

Clive Brunskill

Just a few days after one of the best results of his short reign as FC Barcelona manager, Gerardo Martino faces another tough test as he prepares to take his side to the Basque Country to take on Real Sociedad at the Anoeta. It has been well publicised that the Blaugrana have a comparatively poor record at the famous stadium, and of course given the intense battle for top spot, there is tremendous pressure on Barça to deliver. Anything less than a win, and well, let's just say that it would take a miracle to keep us on top.

After all, we can't rely on teams like Elche to hold Real Madrid; the onus is on ourselves to retain the lead. Thanks to our superior goal difference and head to head record, our fate is in our own hands. If we can match the chasing pack, result for result until the end of the season, we will retain our title.

Thankfully, Barcelona have displayed that they are more than capable of securing a result in enemy territory. Manchester City had been in imperious form at the Etihad Arena this season, but were comfortably dispatched thanks to Lionel Messi's penalty and Dani Alves' impressive late finish. After such a difficult trip, you better believe that a match at the Anoeta looks that much easier -- and with a wealth of options to choose from, Martino has more than enough in his arsenal to secure another strong result tonight.
