FC Barcelona v UD Almeria: Barça looks to bounce back | FC Barcelona
The players and coaches of FC Barcelona have spent the past few days rebuilding their confidence after last weekend’s disappointment. This Sunday, Barça takes on Almeria in the Camp Nou (9 pm, Canal +) with a two-fold objective – a good performance and the three points. After coming away from the Anoeta empty-handed, Tata Martino’s players know they cannot afford to drop any more points in the race for the league title.

Barça’s great record against Almeria | FC Barcelona
This Sunday, FC Barcelona will face Almeria in the Camp Nou (9 pm, C+). The two clubs have met eleven times before, the first of those encounters coming as recently as the 2007/2008 season, Almeria’s first in the Spanish top flight. Barça’s record in these matches could scarcely be better, with nine wins – including all five matches played in the Camp Nou – and two draws.

Mallorca – Barça B: Superiores y dominadores (1-2) | FC Barcelona (Note: article in Spanish)

Malaga and Real Valladolid had to settle for a point apiece from their relegation battle as a 1-1 draw left both sides with plenty of work still to do to avoid the drop. Roque Santa Cruz put Malaga ahead after 13 minutes, but Daniel Larsson levelled for the visitors after half an hour. The result kept Malaga three points ahead of their opponents in the fight for survival, but this was a match they would have been looking to win to pull further clear of the bottom three.

Espanyol held at Getafe | Sky Sports Football
Espanyol's hopes of surging into Europa League contention suffered a setback on Saturday evening as they were held to a 0-0 draw at Getafe. The Periquitos had the chance to move to the brink of the European qualification places with victory and if other results went their way, but finished the day still in mid-table and just six points above their hosts.

Gil fires Elche to victory | Sky Sports Football
The midfielder came off the bench in the second half and combined with Coro before tucking the ball into the net with six minutes remaining to take the Alicante club six points clear of the relegation zone and up to 13th in the Primera Division table, just one point behind Celta, who remain 11th.

Levante maintain momentum | ESPNFC.com
Levante's new year charge for a European berth continued on Saturday as they beat Osasuna 2-0 - despite playing the last half-hour with a man less. Joaquin Caparros' men looked more likely to be embroiled in a relegation fight after losing six of seven league matches around Christmas, but since suffering a 2-0 derby defeat to Valencia on January 4 they have compiled an unbeaten eight-match run to storm up the standings.
