After a lightning start to the game as Barça took up from where they left off at the Bernabeu, a nasty looking injury to Valdes stunned the Camp Nou and although Messi and Neymar ensured the win, the keeper’s injury cast a pall over the celebrations.

Víctor Valdés suffers ACL tear | FC Barcelona
Víctor Valdés suffered an ACL tear on 22 minutes after saving a free kick from Augusto. The Club's Medical Services confirm that he will need surgery. The keeper fell awkwardly on his right leg, forcing him to ask to be substituted. He was subbed off two minutes later for Pinto while he was being carted off the pitch of the Camp Nou.

Valdes denied opportunity to end Barcelona career on his own terms -
After the ecstasy, came agony. Victor Valdes expressed his delight as Barcelona's defiant Clasico win over Real Madrid rejuvanted their title challenge, but just three days later his Camp Nou career is over and with it his hopes of turning out for Spain at the World Cup in Brazil.
