Rodrigo Palacio opened the scoring from a corner in the first half, and after the break FC Barcelona’s Javier Mascherano scored his first goal for his country in seven years by converting the rebound after his club colleague Messi had sent an exquisite free kick onto the post. Maxi Rodríguez scored the third in the 61st minute after a generous pass from Palacio.

AS reports the Spain striker as confirming he will turn out for the A-League outfit on loan prior to taking to the field for his new club. As many as 10 games are expected for the former Atletico Madrid forward.

The Stamford Bridge club is poised to finalize the 43 million euro signing of the Atletico Madrid striker, after agreeing to the terms of the deal. Diego Costa has completed a medical at Chelsea and is now on the verge of completing a 43 million euro move from Atletico Madrid.

Coentrao to renew Madrid deal | Football Espana
Fabio Coentrao is to sign a new contract with Real Madrid that will see the left-back tied to the club until 2019. Marca reports that Coentrao’s new deal will see him earn €4m a year, roughly the level of the average salary in the Madrid squad. The terms of the contract run until the end of the 2018-19 season and the renewal wasn’t spurred by Coentrao’s performances to end the season. It was instead a pre-planned offer.

Experienced centre-back Amaya, 31, has agreed a two-year deal with Rayo, returning to the club where he started his career. He also spent a season on loan at Vallecas from Wigan in 2010.
