FC Barcelona B has started their pre-season well, just like the first team.
In a friendly at Ciutat Esportiva, the club's facilities, with no crowd, Barça B beat Figueres, from Spain's Third Division, with a comfortable 2-0 win, with goals from Robert Costa and Jean-Marie Dongou, who spent some time with the first team in the opening week of the pre-season training.
The match was only 70 minutes long, with 35 minutes for each period. Dongou scored the first goal on a nice individual play, while Costa put the second ball on the net on a header after a corner-kick.
Fun fact about the game: Barça B debuted the new uniform before the senior squad. Weird, at least.
Eusebio Sacristán, the team's coach, didn't take the result very serious, but approved the physical and technical level of his youngsters at this stage of the pre-season. Barça B will now travel to Torremirona for two more friendlies, against L'Escala, on Sunday, and Olot, next Thursday.
