Luis Enrique took charge of the 24-man squad for Sunday’s training session, where there were congratulations all round for proud new father Martín Montoya.  Xavi Hernández and Neymar Jr participated in today’s session but have still not been fully cleared by Club doctors.  Meanwhile, Adriano joined the group for part of the session.

Despite leading courtesy of a goal from Jean-Marie Dongou, FC Barcelona B slumped to a defeat in their latest preseason friendly against Llagostera as an own-goal from Patric tied the two teams before Tarradellas won it for the visitors.

Carlo Ancelotti's men made a bright start and Cristiano Ronaldo rounded off a swift break with the opening goal, but Mario Gomez equalised with a strong header just before the half-hour mark. And the Serie A side secured a morale-boosting win thanks to a fine solo effort from Marcos Alonso.

Taking part in the Joan Gamper Trophy is not a new experience for Luis Enrique. In the 49th Gamper in the Club’s history it will be Luis Enrique’s eighth trophy match. This time it’s a little different though, as it will be his first Gamper as the first team coach.

Sampdoria were beaten 2-0 by Liga champions Atletico Madrid to get second place in the Trofeo Carranza. Samp were completing a substitution for the injured Gonzalo Bergessio when Hector hit the bar and Saul was quickest to pounce on the rebound. Gimenez doubled the Colchoneros advantage by sliding on to a corner kick from close range.

A report in Sport, via TVE, claims Gil Marin said: "Reus has never been on the agenda of Atletico and his profile does not fit the current needs of the team." Sport continued: "Atletico denies reports of Cope, which placed Atletico set to close to close the signing of Reus. Gil Marin, however, did acknowledge that Atletico will try to add a player."

Reports in England suggest that Atletico Madrid will make a move for Liverpool defender Daniel Agger. The Denmark international is seen as surplus to requirements at Anfield and has urged the club to sell him this summer.
